Sammanlagt har fyra intervjuer genomförts med personer bosatta på Victoria Park. En observation av området är också utförd.

I samhället idag har människor genom media blivit allt mer medvetna om att världen är osäker, vilket för många skapar en känsla av otrygghet. Många vill lösa problemet med otrygga miljöer genom att bygga säkrare, vilket kan ha lett till att människor i Sverige känner sig tryggare nu 2013 än åren dessförinnan. Ett exempel på ett försök att lösa otryggheten är Victoria Park, det nyligen byggda så kallade livsstilsboendet i Malmö. Den bärande idén där är att det ska finnas en möjlighet till gemenskap mellan de boende, då de förser gemensamma och privata utrymmen med hög service. Victoria Park har fått blandad kritik.

This is an essay about gated communities and their impact on society. The key questions of my essay are: why people choose to live in gated communities; how the city is impacted by gated communities and what the difference concerning the reasons and impact of gated communities in Florida and Sweden is, and what this difference might depend on. I am using postmodern urbanism as a starting point, and I look closer on Edward J. Soja?s theories about the postmodern metropolis.

During the late 19: th century the park Tivoli in Halmstad, today called Norre Katts park, was known as one of the most beautiful amusementparks of southern Sweden. This is a description that hardly anyone would use to portray the park today. The aim of this study is therefore to investigate what the park once looked like and how it has changed until today?s neglected state. The history of the place and by who and for whom the park with; 4 ½ acers with meandering paths, caves, an avenue, leaf halls and bowers, was created. Who designed the park in the year of 1843 is an unrequited question.

This thesis is a study over changes and similarities of people's activities in Berzelii park, with focus on the second half of the 19th century and present time. As one of the oldest public parks in Stockholm, Berzelii park has been a place for outdoor activity for more than a hundred years. During that time both the park and the society have undergone changes, but people are still using this green area in the city centre in a similar way as generations before have done. It is still a place for social gathering and during the summer month the park invite for optional and social activities such as a pause in the sun and pic-nic with friends. Some customs has disappeared like the 19th century social stroll, but through small changes in rules or design others have become given, like using the lawns as seating..

Aim: The aim of this essay is to study the external communication of Science Park Jönköping, how they want students in Jönköping to perceive them. Further we would like to compare thatinformation with how students in Jönköping actually perceive Science Park Jönköping. Do the both pictures agree?Method/Material: Together with literature studies, a qualitive method has been used.Two interviews with the managers of Science Park, and five focusgroups with students havebeen conducted.Main Results: The main result from the focusgroup interviews shows that the students perceived image of Science Park correlates in many ways with Science Parks profile. But the study also shows that Science Park do not apply many of the relevant theories that would benefit their marketing..

Eslöv received its city privileges in the year 1911 and to celebrate the city?s 100th jubilee it has been decided, among many other things, to reinvigorate the City park. This master thesis presents a new proposal for the design of the City park. In 2007 the project with the renewal of the Vasa Park in Stockholm won the Siena Prize. The architects responsible for the project described how they aimed for upgrading the park within its historical framework. Since the project was a renewal and not a restoration of the park, I thought it would be interesting to study how the architects proceeded with this work. The aim of this essay has therefore been to examine how the last renewal of the Vasa Park has chosen to approach the history of the place. To understand the historical development of the park and how the renewal project was carried out, I started with a literature survey consisting of books, the program of the renewal and articles about the project.

Sedan 1980-talet har antalet Gated Communities världen över ökat explosionsartat. Koncentrationen är framförallt hög i USA, Latinamerika och Sydafrika men förekommer i de flesta städer i världen idag.För att söka reda på förutsättningarna för att etablera bostadsformen i det svenska samhället studeras först fyra för denna uppsats konstruerade arketyper ur det svenska samhället där exempelområden granskas utifrån estetiska, juridiska och sociala egenskaper. Uppsatsen är uppbyggd kring en forskningsdesign med två fallstudier.
